Susan’s operatic performances have included, Susanna and Countess, Marriage of Figaro, Despina and Dorabella Cosi fan Tutte, Emilie Les Indes Galantes, Laura La Gioconda, Giulietta and Antonia’s Mother The Tales of Hoffmann, Pamina, First and Second lady Die Zauberflote, Gretel, Hansel and Gretel, Dido and Sorceress Dido and Aeneas, The Angelic Voice in Don Carlos as well as Michaela and the title role in Carmen and Madama Butterfly.
On the concert platform Susan has extensive knowledge of the oratorio repertoire and has sung at many venues in the UK and Europe. Susan’s oratorio repertoire includes; The Messiah and Joshua – Handel, The ‘Great’ C Minor Mass (Second Soprano), Requiem K 626 and Vesperae de Confessore – Mozart, Maria Theresa Mass – Haydn, Elijah – Mendelsohn, Petite Messe Solenelle – Rossini, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Rejoice in the Lamb – Britten. She has also performed as soprano soloist in premieres of works by contemporary British composers including Sean Gregory, Nicholas Goodall, George Odam and Nick Atkinson.
Susan has appeared as guest soloist with the world famous Treorchy Male Choir on various occasions. Susan has worked with many established instrumentalist and singing professionals. She is a well-qualified musician who can learn new music at speed.
Susan and her accompanist Nicholas Goodall regularly appear at the Pump Rooms in Bath and can produce a programme of music tailored to suit a variety of tastes and styles this includes music from; Opera, Operetta, Songs from the Shows, Jazz and newly composed music. This can be performed as a Solo Soprano with piano accompaniment or on a larger scale as part of the professional vocal ensemble – Opera Sulis©.
Susan currently studies with Rosalind Plowright and is also coached by Simon Phillippo at WNO. Future plans include soloist with the Ynys Owen Male Voice in Aberfan in October 2007, a recital of German Lieder, and other performances throughout the UK by kind permission of the Lyric Management team. |
