Paula studied music and flute at Newcastle University.
An experienced choral singer, she joined White Horse Opera, Devizes in 1999.

Amongst other roles with WHO she played Marthe in Gounod’s “Faust”’02; Kate Pinkerton in Puccini’s “Mme Butterfly”’03; Curra in Verdi’s “The Force of Destiny” ’07; and will be playing Teresa in this year’s production of Bellini’s “Sonnambula”.

In the touring operas: Cherubino in “The Marriage of Figaro”; a merry wife in Nicolai’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor”; Ruth in this season’s “Pirates of Penzance” by G & S.

She is now a regular member of ‘Opera Piccola’ – a semi-professional group staging opera excerpts around the Bath area.

As “Due Voci” she sings with her friend Barbara Gompels at birthday parties, cabarets, concerts, & weddings including at Christmas 2007: dinner for the army in the Great Hall at Larkhill; a lunchtime concert at Urchfont Manor; in 2009: entertainment for the Catholic Medical Association’s National Symposium Gala dinner, in Bristol, and a charity Christmas concert for the village of Seend.

In oratorio, Paula has sung with WHO and Melksham Choral Society, and recently with Chippenham Cantata as the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, and Vivaldi’s Gloria, and she will be singing with them in this summer’s concert.

On a lighter note, she has performed with Devizes Light Operatic Society, including: the title role in ’05 for their 40th anniversary production of Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me Kate”.
At one time she could just be spotted as a backing singer for the international Rolling Stone Tribute Band “The Rollin’ Clones”.

Paula has taken part in Master Classes with Robert Tear (at London Opera Vocal in London), with Ian Comboy with White Horse Opera,
with Paul Arden-Griffith and Pam Smith in Covent Garden, and a mini masterclass with Rosalind Plowright OBE.

Paula studies singing with Annette Thompson.         
She teaches music and runs the choir at St. Joseph’s Primary School in Devizes with whom she has won the primary school choral section in the Devizes Eisteddfod twice in recent years.

She is married and has 3 children, and amongst many other interests has recently revived her love of ski racing (in a veteran capacity!).
