Nina Alupii-Morton

Nina Alupii-Morton

Nina has Moldavian nationality and was born in the Ukraine. She holds diplomas in chorus conducting and opera singing from Chernovtsy and Chisinau University (Chisinau is Moldova's largest city, and its capital). Nina studied at Chernovtsy Musical college and Chisinau University. Subsequently she trained at the Novoselitsa Theatre (1988), and then performed in the Tallin Chorus Competition as chorus conductor (1993).

Nina also performed in principal roles with the Chisinau National Opera from 1993 to 2001 as a member of the chorus and also as a soloist.

These roles include the following: Amneris (Aida), Suzuki/Kate Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly), Adalgisa/Clotide (Norma), Ulrica (Ballo in Maschera), Azucena (il Travatore and Lola (Cavaleria Rusticana). Nina has already performed in one of the White Horse Opera's productions as Nicklaus in The Tales of Hoffman in 2005.

Nina joined White Horse Opera in 2005 and scored a great personal success playing Nicklaus in our major production of Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann. Local audiences recently also had the opportunity to hear her as the soloist in Elgar's Sea Pictures at the Wiltshire Music Centre and in the WHO soloists' concert in Devizes Town Hall.
