Lorna is currently in her final year of undergraduate study at the Royal College of Music, London, where she is studying with Kathleen Livingstone. Lorna was a finalist in the Thelma King Award, 2005.
Lorna’s various concerts and recitals include: Bach B minor Mass, St John Smith’s Square with Peter Schreier; Soloist at the Baluarte in Pamplona and Academia De Bellas Artes De San Fernando, Madrid, with the Pro-Arte Orchestra and the Coral de Camara de Pamplona performing work of Charpentier, Vivaldi Gloria and Bach Cantatas at St Martins in the Field with Murray Stewart and London Pro Arte Orchestra; Haydn Creation, under Neil Jenkins; Haydn Nelson Mass with the Liverpool Wesh Union for Trafalgar day, Messe Solennelle with the Darent Valley Choir; recitals for the Commonwealth Institute. Other repertoire includes: Faure Requiem; Bach St John and St Matthew Passions. Handel Messiah.
As part of the DEMOS ensemble she performed in St. Vojtech church and the Villa Lanna, Prague. She was subsequently invited back to give another recital at the summer music festival, 2005. She has continued working with the piano/ wind quartet and has recently performed in Télc, and various venues around the Czech Republic
Lorna also has a great interest in opera. In scenes she has sung the roles of Donna Anna, Mozart Don Giovanni; Jemmy, Rossini William Tell; The Sorceress and Belinda, Purcell Dido and Anaeas; First Niece, Britten Peter Grimes; Mrs Grose, Britten The Turn of the Screw; Female Chorus, Britten, The Rape of Lucricia; Alice, Verdi, Falstaff.
She has been a member of the chorus for The Benjamin Britten International Opera School in productions of Mozart Cosi fan Tutte; Vaughan Williams Riders to the Sea; Poulanc Dialogue des Carmelites.
She has participated in Masterclasses with: Robin Bowman; Roger Vignoles; David Owen-Norris; Jane Manning; Stephen Varcoe; Jonathan Hinden; Hans-Peter Brochwitz; Richard Jackson and Eugine Astin. |
